People now have the freedom to work and live anywhere in the world due to the development of communication technology and transportation.

Do the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?
These days many people choose live or work in other countries, Which has been made possible because of the convenience of air travel and modern communications. I believe that this has more benefits than drawback. This essay will discuss advantages and disadvantages of development of communication technology and transportation.

The disadvantages of this development is the distance that is put between family members. If a person moves away it is true that air travel and devices such as skype mean that communication and contact can be maintained. However, it is likely that a person will only be able to return one or two times a year during holidays, and speaking on skype or via email is not the same as face to face contact.

Despite this, there are significant advantages it can bring to people’s lives. Firstly, it means that people have opportunity to see other side of the world and the way people live. For example, people from Asia the west often go to work in Australia or Canada and visa-versa. This enriches many people’s lives they get to learn about other languages, traditions, cultures and different ways of working from their own country.

In addition to this, on wider level it may also benefit other countries. If someone moves abroad for work, it is usually because their skill required there. To illustrate, nurses and Doctors often move to work in hospitals in other countries when there is shortage, this is very valuable to the place they move to.

i would therefore argue that although are disadvantages of the current trend to live and work abroad, they are outweighed by the advantages. it can enrich people’s lives and lives of the people in the countries that they move to.

sample essay 2

University students are increasingly studying abroad as part of their studies. Do the advantages of studying abroad outweigh the disadvantages ?

Many university students routinely study in other institutes around the world as part of their degrees. Although students will often struggle with cultural and linguistic challenges while abroad, they will gain significant life experiences that will reward them later on in their career. In my opinion, students are far better off having studied in different country despite the challenges that they will inevitably face.

The greatest benefit of studying abroad is that students will have life experiences that will improve themselves as people that would have been otherwise impossible if they had have studied their own countries. Being in another country requires people to push themselves beyond the norm into unusually difficult experiences. For example, when i studied in Australia as a twenty five years old, I was continually pushed out of my comfort zone into psychological states that were unique and novel that i had to adapt no matter what. These ultra challenging experiences are paradoxically the main advantages of studying overseas because they make you grow as a person.

The main challenges that students will face while in overseas will usually stem from cultural and linguistic differences. These differences can pose massive obstacles for people because they require one to move beyond the familiar and into the unknown which can be often awkward and quite scary. For instance, while studying in Australia i had to frequently make a fool of myself in order to communicate with the local people in their language. Oftentimes, felt embarrassed and i longed to speak English and be in the familiarity of my own culture.

in conclusion, Studying overseas has become incredibly common. While students will no doubt experiences social and language barriers, it is in fact these barriers that lead to the main advantages of studying abroad which is personal growth. As a contradiction of sorts, it is the hardship that ultimately makes the experience of studying abroad more advantages than disadvantages.
